AA Softbed Straw Chop is made locally supporting local farmers and farming.
No Astrokerb in any of our wheat or rape products.
Many farmers will not remove muck heaps as it’s illegal to manufacture, use or muck spread any straw which has Astrokerb in.
You as an end user of Astrokerb based products are liable to prosecution. Astrokerb is a cheap but highly popular pesticide which kills weeds, but unfortunately kills everything else too and takes years to break down compared to more expensive pesticides - so when it’s muck spread without the years of decomposing needed to break the pesticide down - it then kills the food crop it’s spread on.
Our products are sourced with love and care. No barley straw used which can cause barley rash.
Certain types of mixed straw will affect the dust content and respiratory of your animals.
Everything is legally dust extracted by our commercial machines for your peace of mind. Dust causes respiratory issues which can lead to constant coughing, COPD and asthma.
Humans horses and small animals have tiny bronchial and alveoli holes in the lungs which can get clogged. Sawdust will clog then attract infections or cause cells in the body to react, inflame and can cause cancer.

Our professionally made chop is the very popular. This has been dust extracted, through a huge commercial baling machine and this creates a good small chopped size bed which helps the wet soak into the straw 30 times more than normal conventional straw making it easier to muck out and keeping the hooves dry.
It's heavier than wheat and stops the rest of the bed being spoiled. We recommend this if you have a wet horse or pony. Our chop is similar to Nedzbed pro. The Nedzbed original is wheat straw which can be clumpy and wheat straw breaks up and can be dustier. Rape straw is in the improved Nedzbed pro as it's heavier and less dusty. We sell tons of this a week because it is a fantastic product. We have never had a bale returned.
